39th Annual Frances Mary Paul Circle Awards Dinner
Thursday, March 28, 2024
The Frances Mary Paul Circle bears the name of a woman of great vision who in the early 1920's recognized the importance of a hospital in her community. As a friend and patient of Dr. William Howard Craig, who established the original San Antonio Hospital in 1907, Frances Mary saw the need for a larger hospital that would serve the growing population.
Donating $75,000 toward construction in memory of her late husband, Col. James L. Paul, Frances Mary became the first benefactor of the existing San Antonio Regional Hospital.
In 1984, the Frances Mary Paul Circle was formed to recognize individuals who share her vision and are committed to perpetuating her legacy of generosity and community service.
